As well as being safe and effective, exercise should be fun. If you want to do something on a regular basis, you have to enjoy it and my classes are sociable environments with a friendly atmosphere, with Strictly, Bake Off
and prosecco tending to be popular topics of conversation!
Pilates focuses on quality of movement and can benefit all kinds of people, whether you’re looking to tone up, feel stronger and healthier, or become more flexible and nimble. Pilates uses slow and controlled movements that develop your core strength, muscle tone, balance and coordination. It also helps you to improve your posture, increase your flexibility and feel more relaxed.
All my Pilates classes are mixed-ability and we use standing and floor-based exercises that combine both traditional and modern Pilates moves with balance and coordination training. I offer multiple options for each exercise and you choose the level that suits your ability. Every session is different and we use equipment such as balls and resistance bands (stretchy elastic bands) to keep the sessions interesting as well as challenging. Sometimes this equipment makes an exercise harder and at other times it makes it easier!
If you have an injury or condition that makes certain exercises difficult for you, you can still do Pilates. Obviously, you should listen to your doctor and if you’ve been told not to exercise then you should follow their advice, but every Pilates exercise can be modified to meet your specific needs. I am qualified to work with people with common medical and orthopaedic conditions and I will work with you to enable you to participate safely in the class.
Pilates class timetable
Your first group Pilates class is free and there’s no need to book a place, just turn up!
Classes run on a pay-as-you-go basis, so you only pay for the sessions that you attend. You can buy a block of 6 classes if you want to, which you can use in any of my Pilates classes and there’s no limit on when you have to use them by.
I provide all the equipment, so all you need to bring is a drink of water, but if you’d prefer to bring your own mat then please feel free to do so.
Due to insurance regulations, I can only accept people aged 15 and over in my classes and anyone under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
