Adore Your Pelvic Floor

Did you know there are many different forms of incontinence?

  • Stress incontinence - you're typical 'Tena lady advert' incontinence, where an increase of pressure in your abdomen leads to leaks and 'oops' moments.

  • Overflow incontinence - when the bladder doesn't fully empty when you go to the loo so that extra little bit either leaks out without you being able to help it or sits in your bladder making you more prone to UTIs.

  • Urge incontinence - when the bladder suddenly decides it needs to go out of nowhere. This is often associated with a certain act like putting your keys in the front door. The trigger (and solution) here is psychological!

  • Overactive bladder - when the bladder decides to announce it needs to be emptied when it's nowhere near full. This often becomes a habit and comes about as a result of it being trained to empty too early (such as when we go for lots of 'just in case' wees)! This can also lead to frequent night time toilet trips!

  • Bowel leakage - this is more common than most people would expect and has a major impact upon lifestyle.

Each of these different types of incontinence requires different strategies and exercises to help overcome them and it isn't just a case of doing squeeze after squeeze after squeeze to make things stronger down below. The course is supported and endorsed by women's health physios and follows NHS guidelines on pelvic floor health. These courses are proving to be super popular! I am down to my last few spaces left in both of these sessions so book fast if you don't want to miss out! Tighten and Tone

Thanks so much to everyone who has joined me this week on the first Tighten and Tone programme! It's been a fantastic week with lots of you getting every single workout done so that's absolutely amazing! I've posted a 'half way point' video in the Facebook Group and the Vimeo Showcase to give you some advice on what to do in terms of working out over the weekend! Lovely to have you all on board, here's to next week!


Pilates courses

All Pilates courses are now fully booked until Christmas. If you haven't managed to get a space then do get in touch as I'm umming and ahhing about adding another session in the New Year.


Barre Fitness

The next block of Barre Fitness is now open for booking. It's a super short term because of Christmas, so it's just £24 for 4 weeks which makes it a great opportunity for those of you who want to try it out, but don't want to commit to one of the longer terms. Just 2 spaces left though so get booked on quickly!


Next week's Facebook LIVES

No lives again next week I'm afraid! I'm super duper busy, but they will be back soon! I promise! In the meantime there are still free workouts on the website and in the Community Facebook Group!
