Positions we use in Barre Fitness🩰
ℹThere are 7 basic starting positions we use in Barre Fitness that all come from traditional ballet.
🩰Parallel and Bras Ba - Feet pointing forwards and arms relaxed in front of you
🩰1st - Heels together with toes turned out and both arms in front of your tummy
🩰2nd - Feet wider than your hips, toes turned out and both arms out to the side
🩰3rd - 1 foot crossed in front of the other so the heel connects with the inside of your arch, 1 arm in front of you and 1 arm out to the side
🩰4th - 1 foot in front of the other with both feet turned out. 1 arm out the the side and the other above your head
🩰4th crossed - 1 arm in front of you and the other above your head
🩰5th - 1 foot crossed in front of the other so the heel connects with the big toe joint (this is advanced and used as a harder option to 3rd), both arms above your head
🩰From these positions we can move in beautiful, graceful ways and get an awesome workout. Because the arms are held in these positions you get a fantastic arm workout and the fact that the toes are nearly always turned out means you get a fantastic bum workout too as the bum muscles can work harder when they're in this position!
