23rd October 2026 Newsletter
Hi all,
As always, thanks so much for coming to class/subscribing this week!
💃 Sam’s Strictly FUNdraiser – BOOKING IS NOW OPEN! ✨
Dust off your dancing shoes and get ready to dance like nobody’s watching! 😂 On Friday 20th November 6-8pm, I’m hosting my Strictly-inspired fundraiser for Cancer Research UK, with an hour of dance-fitness, followed by prosecco, nibbles, a Strictly quiz and a fabulous raffle. No partner needed, no dance experience required – just come along, have a laugh and help raise money for a brilliant cause! ❤️ Tickets are £20 for the full event, with all ticket payments going directly to Cancer Research UK. Please book your space here – and IMPORTANT: please do not send any charity money to my bank account! All ticket payments and donations must go directly to Cancer Research UK https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/sams-strictly-come-dancing-event
🥂 Not fancying the dancing? Come to the After Party! For just £5, you can join us from 7pm for prosecco, nibbles, the Strictly quiz and the chance to win some fabulous raffle prizes – all without breaking a sweat on the dance floor! 😂 Just select the After Party Ticket option when booking. And speaking of raffle prizes… 🎁 I’m on the hunt for donations! If you have a business, know someone who might be able to donate a prize, or have something suitable to contribute yourself, I’d be hugely grateful. Vouchers, treats, experiences and little goodies are all very welcome. Please get in touch if you can help!
If you don't want to get involved, but you do want to donate to this important cause, you can do so directly through my Cancer Research UK fundraising page here. Every penny raised will support Cancer Research UK. 💗
🤠 November Line Dancing – Booking Now Open!
Yee-haw! 🎶 Booking is now open for Monday night line dancing at Manorbrook for November. There are 5 Mondays in November, and you can book all 5 for just £35 – cheaper than paying Pay As You Go each week! Plus, you’re guaranteed your spot for the whole month without having to remember to book every week or risk missing out when spaces disappear. 😉 Come and learn some new dances, have a giggle and start your week with a bit of boot-scootin’ fun! No partner or experience needed. Book your November block here 🤠
💃 Fancy Joining Recycled Teenagers?
Next week we're starting a brand-new routine, so it's the perfect time to come and give it a go if you're new! 🎶 Recycled Teenagers is a fun, low-impact aerobics workout set to great music, designed to get you moving, keep your brain active and put a smile on your face. It's a friendly, welcoming class where you can work at your own pace and enjoy a bit of feel-good exercise without high-impact moves. ❤️ Join us Mondays at 5:45pm or Fridays at 10:10am at Alveston Youth Centre. Come along and give it a try!
New Zumba Song
This week's new Zumba song is Run Di Tool
You can take a sneak peak preview of it here!
🚧 Roadworks Update – From Next Week! 🚧
The good news is that this only applies after 8pm, so if you're coming to an earlier class, there's no need to worry! 😊 These are my best guesses at the alternative routes, so do check the latest roadworks information before setting off.
Just a heads-up that the next stretch of roadworks starts next week, with the road closed from Thornbury Road (I think this is by the Hyundai garage) to Church Road (what I call the Yate Road!). This will mean a few changes to your usual routes if you're coming to/leaving classes in Alveston after 8pm.
If you're going home to Thornbury, you'll need to go through Alveston to get to Alveston/Thornbury Hill, rather than using the A38. If you're headed to Falfield, Tytherington and that direction, you'll need to go via Thornbury instead of the A38 (although you're probably getting used to that by now! 😂). And if you're off in the Almondsbury direction, I think your best bet is to go through Alveston, head into Old Down and then rejoin the A38 via either Washingpool or Fern Hill.
🩰 Fancy Giving Barre a Go?
I still have a few Pay As You Go spaces available for this term! Barre is a ballet-inspired, low-impact workout combining small, controlled movements to help improve strength, balance and posture. No dance experience needed, and definitely no need to be a ballerina! 😂 Classes are Tuesdays at 7:05pm and Fridays at 11:10am, both in Alveston. If you fancy trying something new, drop me a message to book your space! 💪
